My question is what probably cause did the police have to check his bullet count.
Did they take the weapon ‘for their safety’....and drop the magazine ‘for their safety’...and accidentally on purpose look to see how many rounds were loaded?

Just about anything can cause a traffic stop. It’s impossible to not find a reason.
Once you’re stopped, they go looking for more reasons to get money.
