BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) - Three people, including a teenager, were sent to the hospital on Mother's Day after they were attacked at a local gas station. Officials say the incident was unprovoked and do not believe it was a robbery attempt.
Officials say a family - a 36-year-old male, a 41-year-old female and a 14-year-old female - stopped at a gas station located at the intersection of Scenic and Plank at roughly 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 12. As the man was waiting in line to pay for his gas, he was approached by the suspect.
Investigators with the Baton Rouge Police Department say the suspect, Donald Ray Dickerson, 41, walked up to the man and said "you're in the wrong neighborhood and you're not going to make it out." Dickerson then began to punch the victim in the face.

This needs to be sent to every major news outlet, cc’ing each one so that it is clear to them that everyone else knows they received the story. Holder was right, we have been ‘cowards’ about addressing racial issues. The arrow of racism points in all directions, and racism can’t be addressed by blaming one race.

This is journalistic malpractice; report it so at least whites know they are in danger if they are in that area. I live next to Newark NJ, and while everyone in my town knows you have to get out by sundown some people in wealthier suburbs to the west don’t know how bad it is (because of the “bad-news blackout”). They are the ones who get mugged/carjacked/etc.; at this point I assume (as does the NEwark police department) that any white person in Newark not visiting an entertainment venue is looking for drugs, prostitutes, or both.
Make that “any white person in Newark AT NIGHT...”
Aside from the cloying kumbayah-ness, that statement is both subtly disingenuous and spectacularly naive.
Lets try this:

One/several approach you, putting you in rational fear for your own or your family's safety, it's OK to drop 'em where they stand.
Dial 000 for a Street Dept. crew for pick up and hose down.
Then, when the knock out game seems miraculously to have lost its appeal to that subset, we rinse/repeat with the next group of ambush kings.
What's that ??
No Swedes or Austalians or Inuit or Asians seem to be playing that 'game' with innocent passers-by ??

I can't walk the streets were I grew up, actually can't really drive a car through there without risk of being shot. I've seen race riots up front and close, and gang bangers have killed people right down the street from my childhood home. I'm not naive.
The reason I phrased it the way I did was because the majority of blacks, including the many who are my valued friends, don't think the way these POS think. There are likely plenty of black FReepers who are as angry or angrier about this than you are. I didn't want to paint with a broad brush, but that doesn't mean I don't know the realities.
What I really think is that anti-minority racism in this country, and indeed throughout much of the world, has been supplanted by a seething resentment-filled hatred against whites. I think this has been fed by politicians and the media by pushing simplistic politically correct narratives for decades, while avoiding a real examination of the truths underlying racism and economic disparity.
Obama is the ultimate example of this. He truly believes that black children are being shot in inner city Chicago because ‘the privileged’ (mostly whites) have not paid their ‘fair share’, have suppressed blacks, and have held-back minorities from prosperity. In my view, Obama holds that belief, accompanied by a lot of resentment, probably near to the same degree that those who did this to that family do. He is a destructive ideologue, and has done much to hurt race relations in this country.
Having said that, I have also personally witnessed egregious white against minority racism, although truthfully I have not seen much of this overtly for a long time. That it isn't seen much overtly doesn't mean it doesn't exist anymore. The point is that we will never be able to address these problems and overcome the racial distrust, resentment, and sometimes hatred that exists without the ability to openly discuss the issues in a no-holds barred manner. Everything, and I mean everything has to be on the table - no matter how offensive some may find the comments made. The very fact that this story has gotten little airplay is a perfect example of how the truth in race relations has been buried.
Oh, in general I agree with you that there is plenty of kumbayah-ness going around - and much of it is propagated by those who have never personally had real experience with race.

Years ago a friend of mine was being robbed at knifepoint while filling up at a service station when he sprayed the assailant with gasoline and threatened to light him up. The punk took off crying.
The wife is as good a shot as I am with a handgun; I guess we could do rock/paper/scissors to decide who works the pump.
BTW, this is the second "pumping gas while white" attack reported in the past week. Must be that "new civility".
