The United States should not normally count internal strife inside other nations as it’s mandate.
All this flap over the government of Syria using Chemical weapons and what our response should be, is glaringly absent any talk of what our government response should be if the insurgents use them.
We need to keep our nose out of Syria. There is no good side here. The government is bad. The insurgent group is bad.
No matter who wins, it’s not going to be optimal.

We are indeed in decline, but even if the opposite were true, intervention in Syria would be a horrendous move. We don’t belong there, and we sure as hell don’t benefit from ushering in a pack of bloodthirsty jihadis to power there. Let them shed their own blood if they want to take down Assad. Enough of expending American blood and treasure for muslim filth. No more.
