Maybe because these particular abuses hit a bit too close to home. Stepping on media toes and revenge-oriented audits are tactics that need not necessarily be confined to political enemies alone. Some liberals in the media may be finally waking up to the dangers posed by an administration which reserves for itself the entitlement to operate above the law.
