Reporters across The Associated Press are outraged over the Justice Departments sweeping seizure of staff phone records - and they say such an intrusion could chill their relationships with confidential sources.
In conversations with POLITICO on Tuesday, several AP staffers in Washington, D.C., described feelings of anger and frustration with the DOJ and with the Obama administration in general.

Ha, ha, the AP has fleas.
Idiots! Let it chill your cozy relationships with Obama and his administration! Stop kissing and protecting his butt, ram something up it!
When The Fascist was shredding the 2nd Amendment, they didn’t seem to mind too much. But now that the 1st Amendment is under attack [GASP!] it’s, “To the barricades!”
If AP had a lick of sense, and a hint of a backbone, they’d start reporting honestly about this administration.
Alas, they’ll whimper a bit and still kiss his ass.
No wound is so deep as one that comes from a “friend”. They all deserve each other and our country deserves neither.
Who’s Polutico trying to kid? AP is already bent over, hands on ankles, waiting for its next Obama ‘exclusive’.
Isn’t the message from DOJ clear: Anyone who talks to the press can be found. It may not be legal, but so what, we are the law. Now that we have dried up your sources AP, just write about what we tell you to write about.
Schadenfreudalicious.
OK, AP.... are you really angry, as in “enraged?”
Then, here’s how you act on that rage and help prevent it from happening again to yourselves and others. From this day forward, you can get the best form of justice by simply DOING YOUR JOB AND REPORTING FULLY AND HONESTLY WITHOUT BIAS !!
But....
You won’t.
AP fed the crocodile, hoping it would eat them last. But the beast is hungry!
What whistleblower in his right mind will now talk to ANY media outlet?
It’s only as the 1st Amendment applies to THEM. They don’t mind if the rest of us are told to shut up and go to the back of the bus.
The AP might accidentally discover that they are a (gasp!) news organization.
Who knows!? Maybe they’ll investigate Der Fuhrer 0bambi!
Nah. That would be expecting too much, overcoming that much cognitive dissonance.
How does it feel, AP?
Like a rolling stone . . . a complete unknown . . . no direction home!
” whimper a bit and still kiss his ass.”
Of course. The “cause” is more important than their personal freedom and comfort.
The feds are a mad dog that bites the hand that feeds.
