more than likely it was given this way due to the staff not knowing how to administer IV medication... injectable doesn’t mean a shot necessarily... it means given via IV solution which requires much more skill than squirting into a cup for oral administration
When my mother was dying, they gave her morphine and Ada van by squirting it in her mouth. Same idea I guess
