Keeping quiet and "letting the facts speak for themselves" is what the Republican Party did after they took control of both congressional houses in 1994. They thought the case for conservatism was so obvious, and the wrong-headedness of liberalism so clearly demonstrated, that they didn't want to seem ungracious by continuing to explain it to the American public. They went on to gradually lose their power as the Democrats relentlessly publicized unanswered liberal propaganda for the next 14 years, producing the low-information voters we have today.
Conservative values must be continually presented to the American public in order to counter Democrat propaganda.
