NEW ORLEANS (AP) The suspect in a Mother's Day parade shooting that left 19 people wounded in New Orleans was taken into custody Wednesday night, police said.
Akein Scott, 19, was arrested in the Little Woods section of eastern New Orleans, police department spokeswoman Remi Braden said. She said no additional details were available and would not be until Thursday morning. Police previously said Scott had an arrest record involving drug and weapon charges.
Court records show some had been dropped but he was facing a felony charge of illegally carrying a weapon while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Scott was scheduled for a court hearing on motions related to that case Thursday. It was not immediately known whether he would be present for that hearing or whether it would be rescheduled.

The left will ignore certain obvious facts and continue blaming the NRA.
100 to 1 he looks like Obama if O had a son . ;-)
Assuming they can even make the charges stick, this guy will be out in a year or two.
His pic is at link and you are right.
Catch and release isn’t working!
As another FReeper once told me, the only difference between a victim who was wounded and a victim that was killed is the lousy aim of the criminal. The moral intent of the shooter is exactly the same in either case.
In other words, this little twerp deserves a ride in Ol' Sparky for what he's done. He won't get that, of course. I hope he'll at least get enough years in jail that he'll spend the rest of his life behind bars, though I doubt he'll get that much, either.
Oh GEE I HOPE it was not LOOTER GUY!!
Let’s all hope that it was a white Tea Party guy. Bob
Looter guy now works for fema! Maybe... would fit obama perfectly.

19 counts of attempted murder? Sentences to run consecutively? He should croak before doing much of his time owed.
