(Reuters) - North Korea fired three short-range missiles from its east coast on Saturday, South Korea's Defense Ministry said, but the purpose of the launches was unknown.
Launches by the North of short-term missiles are not uncommon, but the ministry would not speculate whether these latest launches were part of a test or training exercise.
"North Korea fired short-range guided missiles twice in the morning and once in the afternoon off its east coast," an official at the South Korean Defense Ministry spokesman's office said by telephone.

North Korea, which can’t even feed its people, has become the international diversion from reality that Angelina Jolie’s breasts have been domestically. I was shocked at how people who were behind on their mortgage payments had no problem with Obama but stayed up at night thinking about North Korea (and then proceeded to vote for Obama).
North Korea can’t even deal with South Korea/Japan/Taiwan; they are a sideshow while our country collapses. They are so low on our own government’s priorities that we focus instead on putting deviants in uniform.
