Wonder how much of the city’s budget, which is apparently taking a big hit from lost meter revenue, will be wasted in the lawsuit? And will taxes rise in order to “balance the budget?”

Exactly. This family took a Philly, DC, Boston, NY heritage vacation several years ago. We were amazed at our first stop, Philly, at the parking meters everywhere with 15 and 30 minute limits. How does one tour when one has to continually get back to feed the meters? We tried putting extra money. It accepted but gave no extra time. A helpful Yankee passed and suggested we get a rental. The look of incredulity on his face spoke “stupid Southerner” when I said we ARE in a rental. He told us to park at will then and walked off shaking his head.
Getting back home was a relief.
