This is a standard design point for government projects.

This provides a wonderful justification for spending more money every year on government projects that don't work and never will work.

This is our "brave new world"...

the vote to repeal is "worthless," particularly because "a real repeal would actually COST money rather than save it."

Pelosi told a half-truth, which is a whole lot more honest than she usually gets.

Repeal would "cost" the federal government money in the first year because they would not collect the ObamaCare taxes. It would save the American people a huge amount because we would not have to pay for the extra layers of bureaucracy to have IRS-quality service from our doctor's office. Since she sees things from the government perspective rather than from the perspective of free individuals, she sees any cut in the fraction of our money that she gets to spend as a cost.

Will it cost more to defund it?

Yes. Because when you spend less, you actually spend more.
Similarly, with unemployment payments, which actually generate revenue.

It makes perfect sense, if you have a screw loose.

How does it cost more to stop overspending? This must be very nuanced. I take a product, decrease it’s value, raise it’s price and suddenly you are saving money? Hell I need to go back and study economics again. Something must have changed.

People have died in wars to regain lost freedom.

What’s a few dollars to get rid of this?

That's why we need to find out what's in a bill before we pass it, sweetness.

In other words, now that we read what’s in it we can’t afford it and our premiums will increase, we can’t keep the doctor’s we like, but hey if we undoe it then the dem party will look like the biggest bunch of tyrants ever. So in the name of protecting the party, let’s bankrupt America and unleash the death panels.

That would be money well spent. If they recycled all the paper used to print the law and associated regulations we might break even. /s

In practical terms, the only real success of Obamacare is that it had to destroy both Medicare and Medicaid. This being said, the Republicans had better be weaving together a serious federal health care bill as a stopgap measure, because when Obamacare dies, its festering remains are going to be catastrophic.

The best bet would be to start by turning Medicaid into block grants to the states, with the provision that if states use that money for other things, trying to drive the poor out of their state, then they will get their Medicaid money slashed the following year.

(The block grant idea should be applied to many other federal programs as well, as a baseline agreement that can only be altered with the approval of both each state and the feds.)

Medicare is the harder nut to crack, so the best bet is to offer big tax cuts for those who don’t use either Social Security or Medicare *or* routine care health insurance.

That is, if you pay your own way, you get a serious tax cut, worth more than SS and Medicare. On the plus side, doctors that refuse Medicare, Medicaid and insurance have discovered they can charge 50% less because their expenses are so much less.

This is good. That she even mentioned the word “repeal” means the possibility is real and the libs are afraid.

Pelosi lying again.
Repeal ObamaCare with extreme prejudice and it eliminates the overhead of a huge inefficient government pencil-pushing middlemen bureaucratic financial black hole forever.
As a bonus, the quality and accessibility of medical care will not necessarily plummet.
