While they make themselves more and more despicable to normal Americans, you have to admit their activism (with the help of the administration and media) has gotten them:
1. The ability to serve in the military and be open about their queerness.
2. The ability to "marry" in several states (which means dipping into the public wallet as "spouses").
3. The outrageous effrontery to force businesses by threat of lawsuit to cater to them, when they insult the religious beliefs of those businesses (whatever happened to, "We reserve the right to refuse service"?).
4. A big pipeline into OPM (it's never been about "love") through insurance benefits.
5. In general, a big bat with which to beat America over the head while screaming "intolerance!".
DADT was the best way to deal with queers. For the longest time they insisted the world stay out of their bedrooms.

That's not the first time that theory has been offered. And it might be true. I think libs have a reverse logic relative to the idea that the best should rise to the top. With the elevations of sportwriters like Lupica and Olbermann to regular journalist-type jobs, lib logic seems to be to promote their dregs.
The coach was right. Who would want their daughter on a team (and in the showers) with a homosexual? My nephews wife was a star basketball player who got a full ride to college. There were so many lesbians on the team she quit and transferred to different college.
At least he/she shaves regularly and keeps the 5 o’clock shadow down to a minimum....which I can’t see would hurt recruiting.
