MI:Gun Buy Back Program Brings Competition From Another Buyer

DETROIT (WWJ) – At least 200 guns are off the streets of Detroit Saturday afternoon following a gun buy back program at a church on the city’s west side.

There were two efforts underway at the New St. Paul Tabernacle Church.

Wayne County and Goodman Acker both offered $50 Meijer Gift Cards for each unloaded gun, while gun-advocates like Rick Ector offered more in cash.

“I refer to them as LEFTs (Law Enforcement Firearms Transfers) they are misleading to the general public because they send a message that they are actually going to do something that’s going to affect the crime rate,” said Ector.

Ector says he’ll be using the guns he bought.

He feels these buy back programs have zero impact.

Gun “buy back” programs are like a fart in a whirlwind. In some places, the cops just sell the guns and buy some new stuff for themselves. It is hypocrisy at it's highest. And they sell the whole thing as being "for the children."

Ector draws bigger crowds in Detroit than Sharpton or Jackson these days.

He’s the one who planted the idea in my head that the problem isn’t too few cops in Detroit, but too many criminals. Everyone misses the point and argues for more money for cops when the answer is reducing the number of criminals.

“And they sell the whole thing as being ‘for the children.’”

Why should they be any different than the mangey teachers union.

“Why should they be any different than the mangey teachers union.”

Cops. teachers, garbage collectors, any PE you can name. Alleee sammee $hIt! Only difference is the alphabet soup name that announces which of the blood-sucking PE RAT/Communist Union represents them. Another group that deserves a “special” place is the Nurse’s Union. My wife was in the hospital in California last week. On Friday, all the nurses walked out for a week to protest having their “benefits” cut back. Hospitals are no different than the assembly line at GM. Nurses, like assembly workers only care about what they are getting! And now with the hospital computer systems, nurses just “go to the freezer, get the box.”
The other thing: There are enough “minorities” working in hospitals to (as Redd Foxx once said on Sanford and Son) “make a Tarzan movie.” If Obama ever misses Kenya, all he needs to do is check in to any local hospital. And I am sure he will enjoy the “care” from all the Indian doctors whom you don’t trust because you can’t understand them.

The RATs “don’t miss the point.” It isn’t about effective law enforcement, it’s about building union membership. Never mention your distain for unionism around a cop or a firefighter. You may get shot or they will let your house burn to the ground!
