Easier to pass another stupid and ineffective law and smugly believe they've done something than it is to actually do something about the root causes of the problem.

Exactly right.

She has yet to earn the lesson of Newtown.

It wasn’t the gun or the high capacity magazine, It was a crazed little creep nutcase that should have been locked away somewhere instead of medicated to the hilt.

No, they’ve learned the language of victimology where the first lesson is the blame always falls on an inanimate object so it can be demonized.
