'Daily Show' Creator Says Oklahoma Tornado Meant for Conservatives, Apologizes

Lizz Winstead heard about the tornado touching down in Oklahoma today and her liberal ideology quickly kicked in.

Winstead, who created The Daily Show and uses social media to promote her far-left views, sent out this Twitter joke earlier today:

"This tornado is in Oklahoma so clearly it has been ordered to only target conservatives."

Social media brushback quickly followed, and Winstead served up a speedy apology for letting her progressive nature supercede a sense of decency toward the victims of the tornado.

"Made a political joke, Twas before devastation revealed. In hindsight, had I understood, I would have refrained. Beyond sorry. #LetMeHaveIt"

John Wolfe won a bunch of counties in Arkansas and Louisiana, most Kentucky counties went for uncommitted, Jim Rogers and Randall Terry won counties in Oklahoma.

Amongst Democrats, I’ll give you that minor point, but the larger one still stands. He did not win a single county in the state in the 2012 General, and he won the primary, now didn’t he?

Which goes back to my original point that it was for the 2012 general that this twit used as justification for her outrageous tweet in the first place.

I grew up in Oklahoma and everyone voted Dem in those days. I didn’t know that there was another party until I was in college! Now everyone votes Republican, because these people have real values (I will NEVER forget the day my Dad walked into the house and told me he had changed his registration to Republican and why). I rode in the big moving van truck with my Dad (put together by the church) to take food, water, clothing, bedding, etc. to little towns that had been hit by tornados dozens of times. We weren’t the only church with a Disaster Relief Van. That’s what we did in those days. Take care of each other - no one even THOUGHT about the government.

This woman is just so clueless - beyond stupid. I can’t believe she actually thought her political viewpoint was an appropriate filter for this kind of disaster. I’m trying to find an e-mail address for her so I can kindly enlighten her a bit.

Last night on one of these threads a poster made an anti-Obama comment connected to the tornadoes and was jumped on immediately by several others. No one chose to repeat it.
