Ten years or so ago, a twister hit Oklahoma City . . . and carved a mile-wide path of destruction between the homes of two of my aunts then living in OKC.

I’m wondering about the repeat hit. It seems Moore is subject to tornados. I grew up in North Texas and it seemed like Wichita Falls was always getting hit. Is there some topography that lends itself to the formation of tornadoes, or possibly sort of “funnels” a tornado along a certain path after it has formed? Does anyone know about that?

My heartfelt prayers and my donation goes out to the souls in Moore, Oklahoma—
Yet, is it just me or am I the only one who cannot stand to watch any more continuing breaking news any more. The reporters (Fox, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, local) are all like idiot savant parrots repeating the same wrong/misleading/inane semi-factiods over and over again?

The headline I see at the link is:
LIVE WIRE: Death toll in Moore tornado could soon reach 91
I don’t doubt the total could reach 91 and even more, but the article’s headline is different from the headline posted in this thread.
Did they change it after you posted?

Plaza Tower School was destroyed, and is where the multiple children/teacher fatalities occurred; Briarwood School was also destroyed but children escaped w/ minor injuries.

Fox News now reports the M.E.’s Office now confirms 24 dead. Spokeswoman said the she hopes the toll wont go up but knows it will. Said that the higher numbers was due to possible double reporting.
