Issa answered:

....Asked what he knows about how the President spent the night of the Benghazi attack, Issa says Obama generally just twiddled his thumbs.

“From what we can tell... he went to the residence. From what we can tell, ...between 5:00 in the evening and when he got on a plane for fundraisers in Las Vegas, he pretty well ignored his responsibilities as commander-in-chief,”.... Issa relates.

“And by the way,... I’m not accidentally saying ‘ignored his responsibilities as commander-in-chief.’... George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney would have required constant, periodic — you know, every hour — reporting,” he explains. .....“I use George W. Bush because he’s the most recent in people’s memories,” he says.... “George W. Bush, if he said ‘use all measures necessary,’ he’d want to make sure we use all measures necessary.”.....

Under the current regime? ....“Clearly we didn’t use any measures.”

I think there's not been enough discussion of what motivated the attackers, Ansar Al-Sharia and the Feb 17 Martyrs Brigade (with the AQ influences).

If the CIA prisoners at the Annex had been the focus, I don't think Woods and Doherty would've been asking permission two times to go to the consulate.

Stevens himself was more likely the reason, whether for hostage-taking, retribution, or to dissuade him from his mission to relieve AQ from their weapons. If the CIA was to be punished for their activities, it seems the Annex again would've been tops on the list of strike zones.

I think the attackers had scoped out the "consulate" as the place to "get" Stevens, given by whom it was being "guarded" and how easily those Brigaders could've been persuaded to help the AQ cause. (An absolute FusterCluck, Clinton!) If manpad recovery via buyback, I look for an 8- or 9-figure dollar amount to be onsite with Stevens and the the jihadis wanted all: the money, the manpads and to symbolically rub the Americans face in the mud via sodomizing the Ambassador, who--in a muslim newspaper, no less--had advertized to give security jobs to homosexuals! If Stevens didn't survive, "Too bad!" I'm sure they'd say.

If the jihadis didn't get the money the first night, they had three weeks before the FBI arrived to pick the place absolutely clean. What another degree of special for Zero not to have goven orders to secure the site when he had opportunity, 4:30pm 9/11/12, certainly before he left for his Vegas fund-raiser!

“General Petraeus should have known better than to join an administration as criminal in nature as this one. “

ESPECIALLY after they trashed him for months with the “General Betray-us” ads.

He’s been pwned by the left for some time.

Why are they letting this information out? Hillary will just get her lies in order-plenty of time to prepare now. Why can’t they just wait until the guy is on the stand testifying? I don’t understand this method of letting the enemy know what you know.

If you remember back when to when the Benghazi attack just happened, there were reports about 20000 to 40000 weapons at the facility. Then suddenly those weapons were absent from the reports. Not mentioned again..

And remember that the Zero admin was telling us that the FBI couldn’t go to Benghazi becuz it was too dangerous, for 2 or 3 weeks after the attack. That story didn’t hold water esp after we learned that a CNN reporter found Amb Stevens’ diary somewhere at the compound there...

These facts may not be conclusive proof, but as someone with common sense tinged with suspicion on anything the AAdmin tells us, I smelled a coverup having to do with those weapons very early on.

Valerie Jarrett was Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.

Could swear I saw the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago listed as a source of income for her in 2008 last night, believe it was about 30,000, but now I can't find the article, and it may have since been altered.

Don't understand how Quadaffi goes from a guy who has turned around (and I do have some knowledge off his past and don't forgive), surrendered weapons and confessed to things, and who is taking a stand against terrorism and AQ, into enemy #1.

Heard that he committed attrocities.<

My understanding is that there were massacres by both sides in Libya, though my sources on this could be classified as rumor.

Have read Zawahiri ordered the attack as revenge for the elimination of al-Libby.

Trying to remember, but wasn’t there some story about a missile shot having been taken at a civilian and commercial passenger plane, possibly Russian if I remember right, flying over this territory.

Leave your hat on, fasten the chin strap, and loan me your extra. I’m suspecting this particular whistler is a ringer. State Dpt. doesn’t have any kind of authority to deal in heavy weapons. For one, that’s why US Marines guard embassies instead of Peaceniks. We saw in Early Afganistan how weapons buy-backs have to work. The CIA ADVERTISED they were paying $50 K apiece to get them back, the ones they didn’t use on the Russians earlier. And what self-respecting rebel is going to turn in usable weapons of any sort? And why were there no reports of any planes being downed by ground fire in the early days of the Libyan Spring? If buying weapons was Stevens actual mission it would be pointless to keep it a secret-—like Walmart not putting any signs on its stores-—just hoping the word gets out? Go ahead and try to convince me that Stevens wasn’t in Beengazzi banging Libyan boys. So far as I can see/hear no one in congress is asking what his mission actually was and how did the killers even know he was there if he was good at doing SECRET MISSIONS?

This is what happens when you lead from behind. Al Qeade gets its hands on thousands of MANPADS.

Don’t confuse civilian export sales of weaponry with the movement of weapons by the US military-—GI’s don’t need a permission slip from Hillary to move weapons anyplace on earth by the boatload. Been there-—done that-—Semper Fi.

But Hillary’s the smartest woman in the world, or at least she was before she kept wacking her head into things. How could she be a naive moron who gets people killed? My world is crushed./s

I am not usually a conspiracy theorist, but I am very curious about “why” Benghazi happened. Reading your earlier replies I am now wondering if we paid them for the weapons, stored them there, and they simply stole them back.

Lots of questions and few answers. I still don’t think we gave away Stingers.... we provided the rebels air cover through NATO. I do believe we were trying to buy certain weapons the Colonel had acquired over the years from his Russian friends - i.e. SA-7’s and other variants of MANPADS. That is easy to believe, because the Arab Spring would look like Obama’s folly if a commercial airliner got dumped with a missile provided by the peaceful people we helped gain power. That is a very realistic scenario and illustrates the stupidity of this administration supporting the Arab Spring.

In the Middle East the “new regime” is usually worse than the “old regime.” See the Shah and story of Iran for the best example. This administration is terribly tone-deaf when it comes to crisis management because the media has been a bunch of boot lickers. The failure to come clean on Benghazi leads me to believe that something very stupid was taking place there and/or there were some decisions made by the administration that were indefensible in hindsight.

It’s hard to put ourselves back into that timeframe, but this was right up against the election and the real story of Benghazi did not fit the carefully crafted image the administration was trying to sell going into the election. The date creates the worst possible optics for the administration and I can easily imagine them thinking they would bury it with the help of their boot-licking media until after the election.

The problem came when a few in the media and in congress questioned the official narrative. Now they are stuck with lies that lead to more questions.

I agree. I do think we were trying to buy the ones they took because someone understood “what might happen.”
