Many years ago my ship was docked in Greece, and while off the ship there was a Red Cross mobile Canteen on the dock. We didn’t have any money on us a the time, but they would not give us a cup of coffee without paying.

I have never donated to the Red Cross since, and never will.

The Salvation Army always had free coffee, free donuts etc. and never asked for a penny.

That story conforms with most all I've heard about the RC for years.

They sure do have some nice shiny trucks tho !

There were many stories like yours from WWII. Soldiers paid the Red Cross for donated items.

Mr Ditter feels the same way about the Red Cross. Not a dime donated to them from this house.
