Ducky.
They will be engaging in a review.
Baucus, worried about big political spending, asking if IRS has looked at Rove’s American Crossroads. Doesn’t ask about MoveOn.
Baucus is hot to trot to have the IRS used to shut off political money that Supreme Court said was ok in Citizens United.
We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force. — Ayn Rand
Baucus: Where does the buck stop at the IRS?
Shulman: Spinning.....
Media, letters, discussions with Miller, etc.
Baucus: Unresponsive answer.
BUMP.
Hatch: Good on him.
Says the ban on Labor groups will never happen.
Hatch wrote letters to Shulman in March and June 2012 and Shulman never replied.
Wow, Shulman’s eye contact says he is lying big time.
You’re right and all his hands flailing!
Issa has stated....
...Theres an old expression among lawyers, Dont ask a question unless you know the answer.
Going to a hearing and going fishing for five minutes, knowing that a good witness and a bad witness both want to ramble on for a long time, is kind of a waste, he says.
When [Representative] Trey Gowdy asks questions, to the greatest extent possible, he knows what the truth is, so he can cut off, agree or disagree with, a witness and move on using 30 seconds to a minute at most, and you can get five good questions and answers in during each congressmans five minutes.
Bill Nelson struggling against his Alzheimer’s to make some point in support of Baucus’ Citizens United attack.
Shulman says he learned about the practice of BOLO for conservative and Tea Party groups in the spring of 2012 from Miller. Minutes later, Miller, in response to a question, says he did not learn about it until 2013. Yet, Hatch didn’t cross-examine him in light of Shulman’s earlier statement. The GOP is unable to focus and they lack any skills in getting stonewallers to crack.
Yep.
That’s the first rule taught in law school.
LOLOL.
He’s such a dolt.
You’re right.
I noticed that discrepancy, too, yet they don’t?
Sulman’s definately stuttering thru this questioning...”I-I-I-I-I ...His wiggling thru is obvious.
I think he’s a good example of those who are all shaking in their shoes. They knew.. but are continuing to attempt to dodge and weave.
Miller is a lost cause...and his arrogance and sassy responses leave more than enough to be desired...they are wasting time with him unless someone presses him hard...he’s not going to give anything.
Explain the keywords....
We did “less than an investigation.” = Miller.
Shulman: “We did nothing.”
Shulman knew TEA Party was on the list - didn’t know of anything else on the list.....!!!
WHAT?
They are only interested in the questions they ask. They get up and leave the hearing after they ask their questions. They don’t know what is going on when they are gone. Then when it is their turn to ask questions again they have no idea what follow up question to ask.
