I don’t buy the excuse that school districts can’t come up with the money to develop their own curriculum. Are you telling me that teachers can’t teach without buying some online curriculum?

They complain about having to teach to the test, but it’s ok (i.e. easier ) to parrot some online anti-American curriculum?

It’s easier to parrot some online thing, yes, because teaching is not about the students. I’s about staying out of trouble with the feds who run the schools.

They have infected and overtaken Texas schools. CSCOPE is a natural progression.

I know a child, a valedictorian, majoring in History at University. Her mother had to pay her Univ. Freshman summer to read a western civilization tome. The child had been taught in some big stupid football school, the athletic field rivals the Meadowlands, History of the world via Asia. Not one course on Western, European, Christian, Catholic, Roman, Greek course and on her way to infect the university with her brainwashed idea of inferiority of western civ.

Her parents astound me. Pillars of Catholic life here in town. Why do parents allow this?

Parents are in charge of educating their children. They need to act like it.

There is a really easy solution to the CSCOPE mess - go back to the curriculum being used the year before.

All they have to do is adopt the Abeka curriculum from home schoolers. It's already written and is excellent. The history part would make you cry reading about the founders and what they did for us. Anything from David Barton would make all children respect their country and government.

In fact, any textbook from the 1950's would be better than this commie touchy feelie crap we have now. This isn't rocket science. History is history. Why are we constantly changing it?

Saxon Math is widely used and respected. We know how to teach math. It's ridiculous to keep searching for some new way of teaching basic education. Kids today are even dropping cursive writing so they can stop wasting time on it. Can you imagine a kid not knowing how to read or write unless it comes off a printer? And what reason do we need more teaching time during the day,.....to teach global warming and why you might have 2 mommies. To teach the new Obama allegiance anthem, or why Bush was the devil?
