Um, Conners admitted that he lied when it came out that the IRS was after him a year earlier too (for $85k in back taxes). Of course the left will jump on his lie as evidence that there really isn’t any IRS scandal.
I saw that his wife clarified the situation: he didn’t “lie”, he had an arrangement to pay back taxes...and after his interview with Obamugabe, the IRS called and said “pay us all you owe NOW.”
Conners was ordered to read a statement that was prepared by station management and not to add anything to it. Being a good employee, and the status of his position being up in the air, he did what he was told to do.
He was on a payment plan with IRS, but after the Obama interview, the plan was cancelled and a lien was placed on his home.
