This is exactly why people who genuinely need help avoid seeking it or making themselves known. This includes military personnel and civilians I’ve encountered.
My advice – especially if you value your job or your professional esteem –is: Don’t see a therapist; don’t mention your psychology to your doctor…one innocent comment is all it takes before a medical professional takes it upon himself to recommend a specialist or treatment for a problem fabricated by pseudo-academics and lucky-dipped straight from the DSM.
If you are tolerant of the prospect of our country assimilating and propagating totalitarian values, then let your doctor direct and control your approach to your own health. You are at liberty to give away your power - but don’t be surprised when you find yourself devoid of liberties.
