The Irish had ample reason to hate the English. As did the Scots. But the Provisional IRA was a self-serving, thuggish marxist mob. They and the Protestant UDF were more of a threat to their own people through protection rackets and vigilante justice than to each other. The IRA and UDF used religious differences as a cover for their actions, but were as far away from Christian as you could get. The muslim terrorists, on the other hand, are most dedicated followers of islam and mohammed.
