I keep remembering what Jesus said about people who mess with kids. And what even Rolling Stone said about people who snatch, use, and then discard kids in garbage bags. "This is the end of the ****ing world."

The focus on God doesn't mean what it used to some of these people. The Bible clearly says homosexuality is wrong and yet Churches themselves allow gays to lead some of their churches. So troops will have openly gay boys who may go to a Church run by an openly gay person I suppose. Crazy

Our neighborhood troop had a homosexual psychiatric type Boy Scout ~ and his dad was a psychiatrist. One thing you could count on was the old man talking somebody into letting his kid go on camping trips, even summer camp, with the promise of "I'll be there so you don't have a thing to worry about" ~ of course he was never there, or he'd cruise in and leave after an hour. One summer my eldest was working on a few remaining merit badges for Eagle. This kid was there. My son was given the task of following this kid around so he wouldn't get in trouble ~ which I guess was the other choice from hogtieing that kid and stuffing him his tent all day.
No, my kid didn't get his merit badges ~ although he did get his Eagle later. No apology from the psychiatrist.
You cannot have disruptive elements like that around. I'd just guess the 2/3 who voted for open homosexual behavior and homosexual rape as official policies of Boy Scouts of America have never themselves ever worked as volunteers ~ they're like the psychiatrist.
It's probably been that way since scouting began: Don't ask, don't tell, in effect. But when they insist that openly gay members must be allowed, they've changed a basic assumption about the BSA: that it isn't about sex, period.
Now they've made it about sex for boys starting at 10 1/2 years old. It's a stupid move from any viewpoint, except as a first step toward gaining acceptance of gay scout leaders.

I think the Eagle Scouts have the same doctrine but smaller.
Great article! It brought tears to my eyes, as I recalled the incredibly wonderful times & meetings & campouts as a Cub scout and then as a Boy Scout. Based on the article, it appears there will soon be a sane, morally upright alternative to the now defunct Butt Scouts.

I guess they didn’t learn anything from Sears or JC Penney and their excursion into the Hersey highway. Both those companies sales have tanked. Sears reported today bigger than expected losses in Q1.

JC Penney - worked out pretty well for them, didn’t it? They’re going out of existence quickly for the same reason, and sadly, the Scouts will quickly follow.
Enough is enough. We need to stand for values, principal and “right vs wrong” (vs the latest opinion poll) FOR ONCE.
The BSA is now dead to me. Not one more penny. Not even a bag of popcorn next time they’re hawking it at the corner Kroger. And,I’ll be sure to tell them why when I say “no thanks”.
BTW, I’m a former Cubscout, Webelo and Scout. Fond memories indeed, and it’s really, really sad to see what’s happening to an organization that played a big role in my early years.
Thanks. There are also Pathfinders (the ones I know are also affiliated with a church, but maybe not all are?) and some of the Boys Clubs maintain reasonably decent standards, indeed perhaps most of them do...so far, anyway. Worth looking around!
It sounds to me like your making garbage up and spewing a bunch of nonsense. I said the decision was sad, but it most certainly is NOT going to be the end of the Boy Scouts. The Boy Scouts will go on, and almost certainly be just fine. Period. All the raging aside from everyone who finds this decision wrong, including myself, doesn't change the fact that the Boy Scouts will soldier on and probably thrive.
This is disappointing. DH and DS2 went to scouts tonight, sponsored by our church. Discussing how to handle this, although at one point our scout leader said he was resigned to disbanding the troop if need be.
This is very fishy to say the least.
I will not be giving them any money and I hope others do the same out of protest. Unbelievable, what was once a wonderful organization, now this. A private organization. How far we have fallen because people just give in to immorality.
I’ve seen older boys pester young ones before, in an inappropriate manner. I wouldn’t want to be the younger kid. Now, I guess you shouldn’t be a Boy Scout until your self defense skills are adequate to beat off the pervs.
