So “...Shall not be infringed” doesn’t apply in Tennessee.

Will they be processing permit applications like the IRS handled Tax Exempt Applications ?

Well, that ruling will go over like a ton of brick in Tennessee. How do you get rid of the people on that court??? I bet that is the next question to be figured out by Tennesseans.

Somehow I doubt the people of Tennessee will let it stand.

Whether this is ignorance or idiocy, it's staggering :

The revocation came after Embody was detained by Belle Meade police in 2010 while walking with a .44 caliber black powder revolver in his hand. He was detained in 2009 while walking in Radnor Lake State Park with an AK-47-style pistol.

(emphasis added)

There is not a single word in the 2nd Amendment which restricts the right to bear arms. In fact it goes further than other Amendments to state “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED”

What is the penalty for government officials at any level or any branch who violate the Constitution? NOTHING!

Unless they are, at bare minimum, given life sentences for violating our rights this will never stop. Why life? 1 day for each American who’s rights were violated would not seem to violate Cruel and Unusual.

That is the minimum, while I prefer the Thomas Jefferson approach, I know there are not enough backbones remaining in current society to garner the will and determination we were so fortunate to have in our Founders. We are now the land of fairies.

Well...I guess after the reset, when we write the new constitution, we’ll just have to say the right to own and carry weapons is “unrestricted”.

‘Cuz “shall not be infringed” is just too dang vague.

The Tennessee state Constitution specifically says that the legislature has the power by law “to regulate the wearing of arms with a view to prevent crime.”

His carry permit was taken away because he was acting like an ass. If on the other hand, he had been carrying openly in a holster, he would probably never been charged.

Now pistols are AK-47s? Who knew??!!

Please, Appeals Court, show us the restrictive clause in the second amendment.

Yes, there is such a thing. Take the folding stock off a short-barreled AK-47 and you have a pistol (if it is properly registered as a pistol).

Yes, there are AK-47 pistols. Shorten the barrel and overall length and cut off the folding stock and you have a pistol.

There is a guy in Kingsport, TN who wears a western rig every day, with a really nice Ruger single six loaded with .45 long colt. Nice rig; excellent message. The police seldom even stop him to chat anymore. I smile inwardly when I see him, and remember which pistol I’m wearing that day, concealed.

The Right to Bear Arms is, indeed UNrestricted in the Constitution. .”..”shall not be infringed” is the wording. It does not say “except for people without carry permits” nor does it say “except for people who take antidepressants” nor does it say “except for people who live in Chicago,” etc.

Leonard Embody filed suit in 2010 after state officials took away his carry permit, finding a "material likelihood of risk of harm to the public."

He had a carry permit, so I'm not sure what he was guilty of that caused him to loose it.

What is an AK-47 style pistol? Anyone? LMAO

I guess it would have been too much trouble to simply tell us what he was carrying.

It all depends on how you carry. As you know, Tennessee issues a carry permit. It is better to remain anonymous though and avoid hassle.

Leonard is a known quantity. He’s been trying to get something just like this going for a while now.

Even went so far as to open carry an AK with the tip painted orange.

He’s right, in asserting his Rights, but he’s one of those people you’d rather not have out there as a Poster Boy for the cause.

And yeah, they do make a pistol-length modded AK. Ugly looking cuss...

So what is the meaning of “the right of the people to keep and bear arms”? If something is not covered by the meaning of those words, making that something illegal is not an infringement.

No!They will do it like they’re doing it here in Connecticut.Deliberately Slow. They always have an excuse. They don’t have enough staff, they don’t have enough money.Always an excuse to delay what is a civil right.

I hate our Governor and the Damned Connecticut State Police because they are deliberately denying people there rights under the Second Amendment.

On the range, they are extremely obnoxious. The muzzle blast is concussive. Same for shorty AR pistols.

Accuracy suffers a lot, but for a short range “up close and personal” defense weapon... They have their place.

I don’t own one. No need for yet yet.

The definition of loaded in Tennessee is

TCA 39-17-1301(18) “Unloaded” means the rifle, shotgun or handgun does not have ammunition in the chamber, cylinder, clip or magazine, and no clip or magazine is in the immediate vicinity of the weapon.

Ouch. I guess if you want to carry an unloaded weapon and still be protected, you’d have to enlist a friend to carry the magazine and not make it obvious you were together. Sure would be nice if those anti-constitutionalists in the “legal” system would understand that as bad as they want to keep guns out of the hands of the People, the People also are willing to risk a run-in with the law vs. a trip to the morgue.

I like the look of that AR-15, but the AK-47 is butt ugly to me.

I guess for close in fighting those would be good. I would be satisfied with the larger versions.
