After the vote OnMyHonor.net released the following statement:

“OnMyHonor.Net along with other likeminded organizations, parents and BSA members, are announcing a coalition meeting that will take place next month in Louisville, Kentucky. There we will discuss the creation of a new character development organization for boys. We will host and facilitate a national coalition meeting of former BSA parents and other youth leaders who wish to return to truly timeless values that once made the BSA great.

“We grieve today, not because we are faced with leaving Scouting, but because the Boy Scouts of America has left us. Its leadership has turned its back on 103 years of abiding by a mission to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices. Instead, it is embarking on a pathway of social experimentation that we believe will place at risk the very youth the organization is entrusted to serve, while rendering as hollow the tenets of the Scout Oath. Many of us find that unacceptable, and we have a desire to explore how we might serve families and young people at the highest standard originally intended by Scouting’s founder, Robert Baden-Powell.

“While the meeting will be private, your voice is very important to us and will be represented there. We welcome your comments as we develop our plans. Please share your thoughts with us at Contact@OnMyHonor.Net.”

I’m pulling my boys out of the Cub Scouts.

I may have to put up with some things at work but I’ll be damned if I’m putting up with it at home with my children.

I have made a donation to OnMyHonor.net and I eagerly await the results of their meeting. I hope they can come up with something good. I really wanted my boys to learn all the other things the Boy Scouts had to offer.

One thing I do know is they will not be able to use the name Scouts. That's copyrighted by BSA.

I’d be real careful about Native American lore. Stuff about coping in the wilderness, fine. But no stuff about drumming up spirits or some nebulous “Great Spirit” in a pantheon.

My Son pulled himself out of scouts. He loved it, and it was good for him. He has worked very hard, and was well on his way to Eagle, had no doubt in my mind he was going to achieve his goal.

He said, "How can a Scout be 'morally strait' and be gay", he gets at 12 years old, what so many can not.

For the life of me, why the gay crap all over. There are other clubs for this, like Club Med or nude beaches or something. Why do they have to screw around with the rest?

The BSA’s official position and argument before the Court in the BSA vs. Dale case was:

“The Boy Scouts asserts that homosexual conduct is inconsistent with the values embodied in the Scout Oath and Law, particularly those represented by the terms “morally straight” and “clean,” and that the organization does not want to promote homosexual conduct as a legitimate form of behavior.”

Technically it isn’t supposed to be implemented till 2014 so he could have pressed till the bitter end. But quite understandable how so many are disgusted with this caving, now.

The answer is, in part, because straight men/boys (who may be quite oblivious to it) are more potent idol material to homosexual men/boys than other homosexual men/boys are.
