The thing that impresses me is the the Swiss are armed. I believe there is a high level of readiness should any one desire to cross their borders.

No offense intended. I just find it amusing the way some mix up Sweden and Switzerland, Slovakia and Slovenia, Austria and Australia, etc.
Used to live in New Mexico, and a remarkable number of Americans think it’s a foreign country from the US.
I believe you are correct: Switzerland does not have a standing army, but the people are heavily armed.
