“Bangkok not tourism-friendly anymore.”
__________________________________________

Bangkok was my first big international trip in 1999.
I went to visit a wealthy Chinese girl, and we flew to Phuket to spend several days. I had my first elephant ride, as well as a boat trip to PePe (later destroyed by tsunami).
In BKK, I was amazed at all the gold and gem companies, as well as going around by the tooktooks.
From what I see on TV now, it looks like a hellhole, and I have no desire to return.
Much of the world is past its prime time and lost the charm.
I am so happy that I was a child of the 40s, and feel for
the younger generation of today.
I see nothing but declining civilization.

Obama has created a power vaccuum.

This is happening all over the world now as various factions have realized that there is no clout to keep order.

Obama’s truly insane claim that we are in a post-9/11 era is the rant of a narcissist who believes his own fantasy.

Tourists do not go to Ramkamhaeng. It’s a big student area, and there is in fact a lot of inter-school gang type violence in Bangkok, at least there was in the 90s when I was living there. I used to know a few cops at the local cop-shop in Ramkamhaeng.

More so now than during the red shirt demonstrations. Ramkhamhaeng University area isn’t tourist central. There are Muslim student groups or, more likely, rival gangs in that area. They aren’t after farangs.
