Springstein, Midler, and Streisand are admittedly talented performers (although Bruce was much better when he was a hungry young singer performing 4-hour concerts when he was in his 20s and early 30s). As for the others, it's not hard to boycott such sucky singers.

That said, I'm glad you don't have Willie Nelson on this list.

As much as anybody, Willie Nelson SHOULD be boycotted. His vision of “intellectual property” extends WAY beyond merely jealous guarding of his lyrics and chord arrangements, it is a tool to wrench additional sums from people who do not even have much regard for his repertoire. He got into an extended wrangle with the IRS, and ended up owing huge amounts of delinquent taxes and assessments. Willie claimed it was because of “bad bookkeeping” by his accountants, and maybe so, but they could only deal with the information he was willing to share with them. Besides, he could blame his woes on the Bush-41 administration, which provided him with bono-fides with the liberal crowd.

His bogus “Farm Aid” concerts actually provide little help for the supposed recipients (most of the proceeds go to the promotion and “expenses” involved). His enterprise in biodiesel fuel is more for the subsidy benefits to the operation than for any actual contribution to “energy independence”.

Cuffing aging hippie.

Get on the road again. And don’t come back.
