My wife wants to visit the city sometime. You know, the shows and the night life. Yuck!

I remind her of the Stones song — “Shattered.” “...bite the big apple don’t mind the maggots... bed bugs uptown..” Heck, we’d probably get mugged or some “terrorist” might explode a bomb not to mention NYC is an armpit.

My excuse is that it is expensive even though we could afford it if we saved our pennies. I’d rather spend that fortune somewhere else.

His wife is huma abedin (sp?) second highest at state under H! See m. Bachman s statements re this MB connected woman Then ask where is this disgraced NY congressman obnoxious and perverted by NY standards getting multi millions to run a serious campaign and able to get his wife (Muslim married to Jew) to stand by him and we just haven’t learned the lessons of the Clinton’s whose story these two follow and plan to follw to the top (WH). We think BO is bad? Whoa. Every joke on him he takes to the bank

This is a surprise. Campaigning with his past like is a heavy load. I thought he’d blow it.

New York City can be a fun place to visit - I actually lived there for about three years back in the mid-1980s, and have some family who live in the region.

I've only been back a handful of times, but my impression is that the "night life" is vastly overrated - expensive beyond all reason, unless you like $15-$20 cocktails and obscenely loud music. Broadway show tickets can run upwards of $200 apiece, though they can be had for considerably less.

On a nice day, you might check out Central Park and its zoo, and then up Fifth Avenue to the museums (the Guggenheim, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Natural History) or go downtown to Little Italy or for Asian food - the places can be crowded, but the food is often great and not outrageously priced. If you want to visit the World Trade Center memorial, you have to get tickets in advance (they're free, and available online).

Daily parking rates seem to be about $30-$35 these days, and then navigate the subway system or crosstown buses to get where you want to go. Definitely would not want to live there today - I'm not young or rich.

The MB is heavily invested in Weiner’s success, hence the narrative being structured this early to appear his poll numbers reflect potential for success.

Better places to spend that kind of money. Like a trip to Hawaii or partway to Europe. It just seems pretentious and over priced although I do like museums. I do remember liking “Up State” — Endicott.

DC is better and that was first on our list. We have been to DC a couple of times and have enjoyed it.

If Minnesota can have a professional wrestler for governor and a not funny jerk of a comedian for US senator,
weiner fits right in. He can only effect a city, not a state or the senate....

You saying Joe Lohta doesn’t have a chance at all?

What are the chances that the average New York has even heard of him? (I actually had ... once, I think.) The other guy in GOP race has all the money and the radio ads at the moment. Does Lohta have a shot at getting the nomination or have the party bosses decided all that behind closed doors. (I know that there's a primary -- Bloomberg had a primary once, too, against Herman Badillo, who would've been a better mayor.)

Maybe Giuliani’s deputy mayor (and budget director), for that’s what Lhota was, should strip naked and post his pic in Twitter for all to see.... that’ll make him well known in a jiffy.

The jokes are fun. Even the WSJ joining in possibly by saying Weiner is hitting the campaign trail.

But read Bob McManus's op-ed of a few days ago for the serious reasons we need to keep this charming couple away from Gracie Mansion.
