Reporters grilled White House Press Secretary Jay Carney on Wednesday over Attorney General Eric Holder’s seemingly misleading testimony on the Justice Department’s monitoring of members of the press.
Referring to Holder’s testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on May 15, Fox News reporter Ed Henry pointed out that the attorney general claimed he was unaware of any “potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material.”
It was later discovered that Holder personally signed off on the search warrant to obtain James Rosen’s personal emails, Henry explained.
“Even if the attorney general ruled out that he was going to prosecute Rosen…We know he was involved in it at the very least,” he told Carney. “Was he not telling the truth on that point?”
“Involved in what?” Carney asked.
“He signed off on the search warrant,” Henry shot back. “You’re not involved after signing a search warrant?”

Looking at the question posed to him May 15th in context, it might be useful to determine whether it was a legitimate query or one of those softballs pitched to the likes of Democrats.
The question was posed to him by judiciary committee member Hank Johnson, D-GA. Isn’t this the Buddhist quackhack who expressed concern about Guam tipping over and capsizing?

The heat will only go up! Jay Carney is a cooked goose. He will be forced out within a month. Maybe Chrissy Mathews (sp) can take his jon. He will be forced off MSNBC soon enough. Might as well earn a paycheck from Obama after all the years he has spent working in his best interests.

I heard Darryl Issa rip Carney on one of the talkers this morning, he referred to him as a “paid liar”. Can Jay Carney be prosecuted for what he is doing?? If so, what could he be charged with?
Never heard of a press secretary prosecuted for lying. That is unless they can prove he was part of a cover up and had knowledge.
They could theoretically subpoena him.
Didn’t think so. For now I suppose public scorn and ridicule are the only tools available. Gibbs came out from under a rock and demanded that Issa apologize to Carney. LoL!
