Clinton's ‘attack’ was a 60 million dollar stunt. He did it with no good intelligence just to get the press off his back. He was offered Bin Laden two different times by third parties and turned the deals down so it would not upset the Saudi’s who helped finance his elections.

I wondered that as well. It may just be that with a two hour flight window, he coincidentally went to 7-11 for smokes and only afterward realized how lucky he was. Just speculating.

During the Cold War we never bothered to check on the political leanings of people in highly sensitive positions. We STUPIDLY thought that people would leave their Socialist politics at the door. Many (maybe most) did not, and fed the Soviets everything they dreamed of.

Likewise I REALLY DOUBT that we have a religious test for people at NSA, CIA, and related intelligence fields. So, without a doubt, Osama had plenty of people ready to tip him off and I’m sure they did.
