Krauthammer: Obama a ´Fraud,´ ´Wizard of Oz´ — ´What He Preaches Doesn’t Work´

On Dennis Miller’s radio show on Thursday, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer reacted to what Miller called “the new normal” — lowered expectations for the American economy — calling President Barack Obama a “fraud” and comparing him to “a Wizard of Oz.”

“It is amazing, and there are two parts to that,” Krauthammer said. “The first is, ‘You didn’t build it.’ This is the ideology of, you know, ‘I built the roads, I gave you your grade school.’ And thus, if you invent the iPad, I did it, you didn’t — which is just preposterous. And the other part of this is that liberals measure success in their sort of compassion ratings by the number of people on food stamps, welfare. The larger the number, the more compassionate you are, whereas a conservative says the smaller the number, the more successful the society. This is kind of elementary, nine-year old stuff — it’s not complicated.”

This is the ideology that this wizard, and he is — he has sort of an hypnotic effect on at least the left in the country — has spun over the last four-and-a-half years,” Krauthammer said. “He came in as this sort of messianic guy who was going to reform everything. And his acolytes are so deeply invested in this theology of Obama that they can’t let it go even though, every day, the empirical evidence is that this guy is a fraud; he’s a Wizard of Oz; what he preaches doesn’t work, and it has very little effect. There may be a turn, I think: By the end of his second term, he will be debunked. But it’s taken a hell of a long time.”

Zer0's followers remind me of those who have this unfaltering belief that mermaids are real. I have a coworker who saw the Animal Planet premiered special Mermaids: The New Evidence on Sunday, May 26. This was a sequel to the docufiction episode, Mermaids: The Body Found aired last year. He did not see the disclaimer in the credits or know that NOAA released a statement saying, “No evidence of aquatic humanoids has ever been found. Why, then, do they occupy the collective unconscious of nearly all seafaring peoples? That’s a question best left to historians, philosophers and anthropologists.”

LA Times writer and “TV Skeptic” Ed Stockly wrote, "It's remarkable how well this fake documentary mimics actual programs claiming to reveal actual creatures. Substitute Mermaids for Bigfoot, Chupacabra, the Loch Ness monster, ghosts and aliens, and it's hard to make a distinction between what's real but faked, and what's really fake.

When the scientists in the docufiction were fictional characters played by actors and the videos were embellished with CGI effects, you know this was high camp foolery.

When I pointed out to my coworker the facts about this docufiction, he refused to listen. He saw what he saw and there was nothing that would convince him that mermaids were not real. He wanted to live in the fantasy world of the Unicorn Farm. That fantasy world exists in his faith in Zer0. How do we break these Zer0bots of their hypnosis for Zer0? They have to be convinced that there is no place better than the world of reality. Irrational thinking limits them in their full potential as functional people.
