Garbled maybe.

Apparently a lot (most?) of the known injuries so far are stormchasers that got blindsided by another tornado near the main one. Multiple vortices maybe? Might explain why it’s so massive on radar and they’re saying a debris signature 4 miles wide.

This is the third time in less than two weeks that my family has been in the direct path of these tornado’s. I don’t know if my El Reno family is all right. One is a policeman.

You’re right. That makes sense.

All of the circulations have been south of El Reno itself.

That is one of the biggest nastiest hook echoes I’ve ever seen on radar. What an utter beast. And more popping up behind it.

This SUPER supercell has 3 sets of tornadoes several miles apart. That is how massive this cell is.

Chasers report that there was at least 3 tornadoes on the ground. Earlier hey saw a trailer park destroyed and some buildings.

If the radar shows velocities of +75 and right next to it -70, its said to have 145 g2g shear.

Their map (news9) doesn’t have a color key on it, but in the midst of all that purple headed for OKC is sizeable patch of black ?

I’ve never heard anybody reference a number that high talking about a couplet before, not in a few years of lurking on various weather boards anyway. I know when we had a tornado outbreak here in NC a couple springs ago, including one EF3, the highest couplet numbers reported were around 160 knots. Close on to 300 knots of shear like that is impossible for me to even imagine.
