Now that’s a green movement I can join!
If I read this correctly the environmentalists and our EPA will end up killing our planet with their insistence on reducing CO2.
isn’t this grade school knowledge? we all know that plants take in co2 and release surplus oxygen during the day time. i was taught that the air is refreshing in the morning in a forest, and it certainly does feel that way.
We’ll need a government program to control this for sure. /s
That is just what I told people when the “global warming” nonsense began.
"CO2 responsible for increased allergies".
LOL the week before the Oklahoma tornadoes there was a guy on Climate Change Channel selling the theory that the melting polar ice cap was suppressing tornado activity.
When I hear one of these goobers say just once, just what the optimum temperature for this planet is, then I might consider a little bit of hysteria when that temperature deviates. Until then, they can just STFU.
CO2 levels are the lowest in recorded history.
“CO2 levels are the lowest in recorded history.”
Huh?
Where did you get that idea?
I believe they have been shown to be maybe 10 times as high at various points in the Earth’s history.
Given this data it would appear that the “Green coalition” that is working to reduce CO2 emissions is really Anti-Green.
There is more to it than just CO2. Plants have pores on their leaves that allow them to “inhale” CO2. But when they open these pores, they lose some moisture. However, if there is more CO2 in the air, they don’t have to open their pores as wide, so lose less moisture.
In turn, this means they need to absorb *less* moisture from the ground, which is the ground is generally dry, means that it can support *more* plants with the same amount of moisture.
On the large scale, this means “de-desertification”, plants taking over barren lands. This also means less topsoil lost to wind erosion, richer soil with more bacteria and decomposing plant waste, which is able to trap even more of the available moisture.
In places with wetter soil, this means plants that can survive in wet soil, the growth of wet forests and swamps and even jungle. And with more plant growth, there is an increase in animals of all kinds.
And all because there is more CO2 in the air.
During the ice-age of the late Ordovician Period, CO2 concentrations were nearly 12 times higher than today - 4400 ppm.
That still ain't doodly.
obviously the Gore-Bots must bring this to a stop immediately, lest the Earth continue to balance itself to sustain life!
The original comment was:
“CO2 levels are the lowest in recorded history”
The Ordovician Period was 485 million years ago, not exactly “recorded” history.
,
I agree that CO2 levels have been MUCH, MUCH higher and really are not the major driving factor in atmospheric temperature. However, during human recorded history, they have been lower.
The rest of the atmosphere is predominantly N. So, IMHO, CO2 is in reality a trace gas, along with a number of other trace gases. Just saying.
They didn’t say recorded human history.
The Earth has many excellent “recording” mechanisms. When it was still red-hot, before we had an atmosphere, before we had oceans and carbonaceous life-forms...not so much.
