So now who’s the oldest geezer in the Senate?

Now let’s see whom Christie appoints as a fill-in till next year’s election.

Big decision for The Chrispy man. My expectations are not high.

If he does not appoint a reliable Republican, he can kiss his Presidential aspirations good bye.

Klingons have a warrior’s honor.

Lautenberg was a Socialist.

Big difference.

I’m with you guys. Condolences to his family, but may this treasonous piece of offal burn in hell for what he’s done to this Country.

Think Buckley. No conservative can win there. Think of that ding-ding former governor.

Here's his voting record, per ontheissues.org. From one end to the other, he was firewall liberal all the way.

Condolences to Lautenberg's family, but I sure as hell won't miss him.

I have been told by doctors that pneumonia is a very peaceful death. It is referred to as ‘the old man’s friend.’

I wonder what Robert “The Torch” Torricelli is up to now?

After resigning in disgrace (which, for Democrats, also automatically terminates all ongoing criminal investigations), Bob Torricelli was appointed as ombudsman for a $550 million dollar federal superfund cleanup site in NJ.

As ombudsman, proven criminal Torricelli is charged with overseeing the federal money being handed out to NJ trucking firms, environmental consultants, construction companies, trash haulers, etc. In other words, every mob run company in the state. It is Bob's job to make sure that no federal tax payer money is misappropriated.

Bob Torricelli was given this position by a federal judge appointed to the bench by Bill Clinton, after being nominated by...

(wait for it....)

Senator Bob Torricelli.

It’s N.J.. ARE there any ‘reliable Republicans’ in that state?

Frankly I don’t give a crap about FL. I do care about which way Christie Cream goes in appointing a successor. Anybody seriously think he’ll appoint a conservative?

Last WWII vet left in the Senate, after Inoye’s death last year.

Too bad that he forgot about the freedoms that he and all the other vets fought for in WWII. His political views spit on the graves of many, many patriotic men and women.

Well, looks like the rubber is finally going to meet the road for Christie now...will he appoint a Republican, or will he instead be “bi-partisan” and go with a Rat?

One shouldn’t speak ill of the dead but...

Following advice I once heard that one should only say good things about the dead ... "Lautenberg's dead ... Good!".

Since he has his own mausoleum - The Secaucus Train Station - maybe he can be interred there. At least it would be put it to SOME use.

The Democratic Party will nedbeatty Christie to a tree and get him to agree not to appoint a Republican seat filler before the regular election comes around and awards the seat to Newark mayor Corey Booker.

89 years old. Why is this allowed. Another doddering old fool in Congress. Retire already.
