It wasn’t a long stretch to black when you consider the fact the vast majority of Muzzies in the US are, in fact, black. But your point is well taken. Frankly, nothing is a laughing matter these days, now that our darkest fears about the IRS and it’s place in Obastardcare are being proven out.

I read it as it was transcribed.

People in positions of power need to be mindful of what they say and how they say it, at ALL times. If he was not aware of what he said (which I think is most likely), to me it says that he is not “up” to the position he is in, either intellectually or educationally, or both. In any case, he needs to fix this problem ASAP, or get out of that position. Otherwise, he just beclowns himself, and degrades the position he is in.

The written snippet does not convey tone, nor body language. It is also impossible to predict how your words will be parsed by a reporter.

You could be right, but we’d have to see the full comments to know.

Well, take it in whatever way you like, but for me, he is careless in (or ignorant of) how he expresses himself, and it reflects badly on his position and himself.

I am done cutting people slack when they shouldn’t ever put themselves in a position to need it. Sorry, I am just done. People need to be aware of, and take responsibility for, what they say and how they say it.

Words mean something.

You are aware that this was written by the press right?

I’ve done a few interviews with the press and have first hand knowledge that a 30 minute interview can be cut to 4 seconds that make you appear to say the exact opposite of what you were actually saying.

“Not doing anything wrong.” is a natural non-accusitory statement, e.g. “He wasn’t doing anything wrong, he had just pulled over to the side of the road to change a tire, and bang, he got hit by an out of control truck.”

But, like I said, you could be right.

Yes, I am aware that the media wrote this...

In commenting on this, I was thinking of several mentors I had that kept this sort of thing under control, as best they could. They never said ANYTHING in public that could be taken wrongly/poorly out of context; and what they said was generally worded such that even if it was cut down, it wouldn’t sound like this did. (It would not sound right/complete, but would still convey what was needed/wanted.)

I realize it is hard to do (I am not particularly good at it myself), but the gist of what I was trying to point out was that people in positions of “power” (for lack of a better word) should and must be aware of ALL they say, at ALL times, and not say anything that could be taken improperly out of context. If that means keeping mostly quiet at times, so be it. What is the old adage? “I never got in trouble keeping my mouth shut.”
