That's really the cause here. These liberals think they're doing something auspicious for a cause, when in reality, a majority of society is laughing at them.
Besides, can you imagine what would happen if this was permitted around the world? You'd have murders of women in middle Eastern countries on a daily basis for violating Sharia.
