Thanks for the info - that would be great for those on wells that lose water when the power goes out.

WaterBob - My sister in law saw that small box in the bathroom she uses when she is here and asked me what that was. Told her that was 100 gallons of water in a box. Now, she has one.

That company is in Florida - best place for such a company to be. The link I gave you is the cheapest place to get one.

That is a big chunk of weather in KW area. TB still blustery, but definitely clearing. Sun peeking out recently. Skyway Bridge has reopened.

Flooding threat looks much less serious. I was expecting cars floating out to sea by tonight, but looks like you guys got an intervention.

Be interesting to see the change in sea surface temps once she’s out of the way, how much energy she sucked up.

If you are white you are on your own. obozo proved after Sandy that he don’t like white folks very much.

If we can do anything besides pray, just let us know.

In the meantime prayers for you and yours weathering the storm.

This storm was pretty tame as they go, though lots of twisters.

Thanks for the thread NautiNurse,you are faithful.Our planned trip down the shore tomorrow is canceled.Flooding is the reason.Really don't want to be there with coastal flooding 3 inches of rain and whatever.Still cleaning up from Sandy.All our decks chairs had water in the tubes.That was strange:)((((Hugs))))

Sorry to learn Andrea is putting a wrinkle into your weekend shore plans. The storm is picking up forward speed, moving NE at 28 mph this morning. Max sustained winds have decreased to 45 mph. Hang in there! {{{hugs}}}

Went outside this morning, rain has started here in Norfolk. Looks like a little wind and a lot of rain. Everything here will run off into the Chesapeake Bay, if the storm drains can keep up.

Well, it was pretty gusty all day. It rained but no record breaker. My screens blew off the second floor and luckily I watched them from downstairs so I retrieved them. A duck is trying to nest forever. I broke some palm fronds to cover her location. Even ducks don’t like to be sopping wet; especially sitting on eggs. Nobody can see her now and hopefully, she has more cover from the rain. I don’t think those eggs are ever going to hatch.

Very good that you caught the screens before they disappeared. How many duck eggs? IIRC, the average incubation is 28 days.

I’d rather it go somewhere else. Tornadoes are a possibility and the thunderstorms that come with it are a potential electrical menace. Not to mention scaring the dogs.”

And yes, I am staying in touch with That Cute Cat Lady on the Island.

Storms make her nervous.

NN, it seems like it’s been longer than 28 days but then again, this is the closest a nest has ever been to my front door. I could simple be anxious since I need to catch some after they hatch bec of all the predators here. They never make it past duckling any more. I get some outta here cuz I like to help the ones I can kidnap.
