OAK RIDGE (WATE) An Oak Ridge boy and his family are celebrating after taking on a local lawmaker and winning what they call a victory for gay rights.
State Rep. John Ragan was named Reformer of the Year by the education reform group StudentsFirst.
Ragan is also co-sponsor of the Classroom Protection Act. Critics have called the bill a stronger version of the "Don't Say Gay" bill.
Marcel Neergaard, 11, of Oak Ridge, started an online petition asking StudentsFirst to withdraw its award to Ragan.

How is this for child abuse
Excuse me—a “gay” eleven year old?
He’s not even close to being aware of his sexuality, and it is common for children of his age and older to experiment with others of the same sex. That behavior does NOT mean he is gay! His sexuality is still developing!
What are those parents doing to their son?
Thank God somebody agrees with me. The Wate website only has posts about how ‘brave’ the child is.
I think the parents have been watching too many episodes of Modern Family.....
Another step towards Gomorrah.
I constantly argue with my wife that Modern Family and most all other shows are nothing but conditionalizing tv just like DWTS shows the human side of losers like Chaz and subliminally tries to show it is just a human like us. She tries to counter with you have to be smart enough to know what to glean from the shows. That is the problem 75% of people in this country are too stupid to be able to do that and especially not kids.
Complain about the MSM, but it has been tv that has done more damage to this country than any other vehicle.
Don't say gay, say homosexual.
HOMOSEXUAL, because there's nothing GAY about it.
Yep.
Are they allowing this child to be sexually active? If so, the child should be removed from the home. If not, what meaning does it have for him to self label as homosexual?
