How Ronald Reagan Saved the World from Global Warming 26 Years Ago
Yahoo Voices ^ | June 7, 2013 | Mark R. Whittington

Along with ending 1970s stagflation and destroying the Soviet Empire, President Ronald Reagan saved the planet from global warming, which would make him the greatest president ever.

The article was based on a new scientific paper that suggests that "ozone-depleting chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and other halocarbons caused global warming" and not carbon dioxide. Thanks to President Reagan, use of these chemicals were phased out by the 1987 Montreal Protocols, leading to the current flattening out of global temperatures that have the warming alarmists so puzzled.

What a genius. Perhaps he was an alien?

And how do we know these CFCs weren’t injected into the atmosphere by our own government to combat global freezing? Chemtrails anyone?

Simply put: the scientists don’t know.

I think that the whole CO2 idea came from Carl Sagan who theorized that CO2 would cause a rise global temperatures. At least, he was the most prominant figure to claim it. Didn’t he use a dead, waterless, planet as his model? Seems like it was Mars but that doesn’t seem right.

Anyway....

The difference, of course, is Earth has life and much of that life consumes CO2. In addition, Earth has water and water vapor in the form of clouds which have a huge impact on retention of radiated energies.

I love it… it would appear that Qing-Bin Lu has singlehandedly salvaged the University of Waterloo’s reputation which was left in tatters after the embarrassing experience of Al Miserable…… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohammad_Al-Masry.

Plus Ronnie's reputation and legacy continues to grow....

Heresy! That is not what is taught in climate science. The exception to the rule that science is settled is climate science. Unlike other science, climate science is the only science that experiments and studies are done to prove the theory true because the science is settled. You have climate science confused with other lesser science like physics. Other lesser science is relegated to the kind of science where scientists must attempt to prove a theory wrong or incomplete. No other science is settled like climate science.

The CFC’s were not greenhouse gases, they were “ozone depleters.” Supposedly. The whole CFC thing was a hoax, and a trial balloon for the global warming scam.

Lol.

Wow. I’d like to know what they are smoking. Sounds like some really good “stuff.”

Apparently, it creates an alternate reality, maybe another dimension, where the laws of physics don’t apply.

Unfortunately, they ran out and now they are back in reality and trying to figure out what went wrong.

You can see the graph at WUWT. The atmospheric concentration of CFC's correlates far better with temperature than the CO2concentration, including the flattening out of both CFC's and temperature over that last 16 years while CO2 continues slowly to increase

Yep and before CFC it was Acid Rain.
I was on a U of M project to prove Acid Rain.
We spend a bundle and suddenly the research ended.

Acid Rain...I forgot all about Acid Rain. Hearkens back to the old “Nuclear Winter” era. I’ll add it to my litany of hoaxes:

Ice Age
Population Bomb
Acid Rain
Nuclear Winter
Ozone Depletion
Peak Oil
Toxic Mold
Radon Gas
Global Warming

All of them are packaged and sold the same way; fearmongering masquerading as “science” to get people to part with their freedoms and/or money.

The first I recall hearing about “the Greenhouse effect” was in the 1973 movie “Soylent Green.”
