Perhaps my reference to Pope Benedict XVI did not make it obvious to everybody that I was referring to churchmen who were alive during this millennium, since their efforts would be more timely, not to mention more efficacious. Since, in my naivety, I thought I was speaking to church issues pertinent to the last thousand years, I freely offer my apologies to anyone and everyone that I might have confused century-wise.
