A number of suicide bombers took over a building under construction near the airport, and were launching rocket-propelled grenades from it, Kabul police spokesman Heshmat Stanekzai said. A coalition spokesperson also confirmed an attack was under way.
Initial details on casualties were sketchy, but ambulance sirens raced through Kabul's deserted streets as the loudspeakers at the coalition's main headquarters, heard through much of central Kabul, urged everyone to take cover.
SNIP
The northern side of the Kabul airport houses a sprawling coalition military base that's home to the coalition's Joint Command, the war's operational headquarters. Officers reached at the command said the fighting was ongoing and that they were posting troops on rooftops.
Dear Lord. Prayers up.
Deja Vu
If they took over an abandoned building and are launching rocket-propelled grenades, I would think it’s a simple matter to GPS the building and blow it up with a missile.
