JONESBORO, Ga. -

Police are trying to determine if the man found shot to death outside of a Clayton County home on Saturday night was the same man that broke into a neighboring home with two other men.

According to information obtained by FOX 5 News, a man arrived at his home located in the 9000 block of Sterling Ridge Lane near Jonesboro around 10:30 p.m. to find someone had forced their way inside. The homeowner, who was armed with a handgun, confronted three burglars ransacking his house.

Gunfire was exchanged between the homeowner and the burglars and ended up fleeing the home through an open window.

Proper. Every criminal, from young to old, should expect to meet this fate when they sow mayhem into the world.

Nobody wants to see somebody die needlessly, but the needless death was due to the criminal act, not simply the fact that the homeowner armed himself...

"Body found may be burglar shot by homeowner"??

Odds are the dead guy was one of the burglars, unless finding shot corpses in the yard is SOP for that neighborhood. I can't see any reason for obtuse headlines like this!

I dont know- this is the CSi genre of reporting.

I have often thought if you find that you have shot a ne’er do well. Just spread a whole lotta spent shells around to confuse the issue.

This is just going one better, spread a bunch dead bodies around, to confuse the issue.

More dropping crime rates the average burglar commits far more crimes before being stopped.

Gunfire was exchanged between the homeowner and the burglars and ended up fleeing the home through an open window.

So why did the homeowner go out the window?

BTW, finding shot-dead corpses on the lawn is absolutely normal in parts of Atlanta. Apparently something to do with recycling. For prompt pick-up, homeowners should drag them to the curb, where the automated trucks can pick'em up by the belt.
