In my not-so-humble opinion, the only Kinky Boots song worthy of an award is the satirical IRA protest song Kinky Boots (no connection to the Broadway show). Politics aside, it's a hoot.

I have no idea what that is, exactly. And, please, do not explain it. I prefer to live in my ignorance in this domain.

Oh, then, I must go see it. Nothing warms my heart or charms me more than the celebration of deviancy.

What’s a Tony Award?

Well I’m assuming that entertainment matters.

If popularity is the criterion, I suppose burglaries, muggings, carjackings and government corruption all matter, too.

A lot of great entertainment isn’t popular.

They’re still pricing themselves out of business. There isn’t enough tourism, and tourism itself is seasonal. The ones that come either get tickets to a “hit show” when they book their hotel or they stand around the half-price ticket booth trying to find something to see, but I don’t many are seeing more than one show. (Obvious exception would be those who come to NYC specifically for the theater, but that wouldn’t be most tourists.)

“Oh, then, I must go see it. Nothing warms my heart or charms me more than the celebration of deviancy.”

The movie is about the workers in a failing shoe factory in England that switch from making Brogans that no one wants anymore to contemporary styles in order to saves the jobs of a bunch of old people who have worked in the factory all their lives. It’s an older movie, made in Britain. Probably was never in the theaters here. No risk that you’ll accidentally see it and ruin your life.

“Argo was anti-Islamic and pro-American.”

I disagree. There was a reason why Affleck congratulated canada instead of the US when he won the Oscar. When you have a snarky liberal at the helm, you know the US ain’t a favorite. Transformers 3 was more pro-American than that liberal crap called Argo.

Please explain. Argo actually downplayed the Canadian involvement in the events to play up American involvement. If anything the Canadians have a right to be miffed.
