“I’ll spy on your folks and share the info with you if you’ll spy on mine.”

And thus they give the lie to their claim that the primary goal is national security. One does not blithely acquiesce to comprehensive foreign spying on the affairs of one's country by foreign powers if national security is one's primary concern or goal. One does that to remain in power because one views one's own population as a threat. There can be no other reason.

Are you gonna argue that Gov't has the authority to 'copy' everything and store it?

How could you possibly suggest that after reading what I wrote?

"But the Patriot Act does not afford the federal government unfettered access to the metadata or content of strictly domestic communications -- unless there is a warrant, issued with probable cause, for specific names and phone numbers. "

Because, they have already copied it. The the warrant merely 'opens' the content that was copied and stored via NSA databases.

The idea that they are getting the info from companies is not the case, the Telcoms are merely the pipeline for the Gov't to collect the water.

You accused me of "approving" of their copying the contents.

I did no such thing.

You're being contentious.
