Elementary School Beginning Toy Gun Turn-In Program

by William Bigelow 10 Jun 2013

Strobridge Elementary Principal Charles Hill has a brilliant idea: he’s holding a toy gun exchange next Saturday in which students of the Hayward, CA school can turn in a toy gun to receive a book and a raffle ticket to win one of four bicycles.

Really.

Hill believes that children who play with toy guns may not think real guns are dangerous. “Playing with toy guns, saying ‘I’m going to shoot you,’ desensitizes them, so as they get older, it’s easier for them to use a real gun,” he claims.

Hill was inspired by a school photographer, Horace Gibson, who was upset about the number of police shootings of young people in Oakland.

Anybody remember “Screamin Meemies”? My favorite toy as a boy. You’ll never see anything like that again.

Yeah this will work until some kid brings in dad’s loaded real gun................
You are a SCHOOL. The only duty you have, the only thing we pay you for, is to teach our children to read, write and do arithmetic.... In other words EDUCATE DO NOT INDOCTRINATE..............

Base on this we ban children from listening to President Obama speak. That would of course desensitizes them to lying and getting away with it....

Each and every school district parents should start a “Get rid of liberals in education” movement.

And I really don’t really care what each district does with these bottom-dwelling low IQ education majors after they are fired.

Listening to this nonsense desensitizes me to punching liberals in the face.

So kids bring their toy guns to school for a chance to win a bicycle. It’s a sting. They’ll arrest the kids and give them a weeks suspension.

We are or our children are going to be sorry about the comsequences of this. It is part of a boys healthy develoent in every way to know how to handle weaponry this is very bad

And to teach them that their natural tendencies are bad we are going to have a large contingency of confused males

"Not only are toy guns dangerous to play with, they also have long-term negative effects on your children."

"In addition to the physical dangers between children and toy guns, there are lasting long-term effects. Toy guns promote ownership of real guns. Toy guns also enable and promote aggressive behavior in children. Toy guns are also shown to encourage children to use force rather than words to problem solve."

Someone should handout cheap squirt guns to kids who don’t have any to turn in.

I’m kind of glad I’m not in education. I’d end up handing out squirt guns, and cheap Nerf guns to the little ones for play during the thunderstorms. They shouldn’t be denied recess, just because the weather doesn’t cooperate.

desensitizes them, so as they get older

What a bunch of horse hockey. No wonder boys want sex changes when they get older, making a bunch of pussys out of this whole generation of boys.
