I agree with most of what you stated but Memorial Day is still what it was, remembrance of our war dead. Perhaps you might consider substituting Independence Day (4th of July for the low information types) and/or Constitution Day as not meaning anything anymore.

I wish to add one thing to your prescient piece too, not only are we getting the scum from elsewhere, unskilled and under motivated, we are paying their way once they get here. This fact virtually sets my hair on fire on this issue as my predecessors arrived here and either supported themselves or were taken care of by their sponsors who were not the taxpayers of the country but relatives, friends, or employers.
