Pope Is Quoted Referring to a Vatican ‘Gay Lobby’

For years, perhaps even centuries, it has been an open secret in Rome: Some prelates in the Vatican hierarchy are, in fact, gay. But the whispers were amplified this week when Pope Francis himself, in a private audience, appeared to have acknowledged what he called a “gay lobby” operating inside the Vatican, vying for power and influence.

Speaking to a meeting of the Latin American and Caribbean Confederation of Religious Men and Women on June 6, Francis discussed a dossier he had received from his predecessor, Benedict XVI. “The ‘gay lobby’ is mentioned, and it is true, it is there. … We need to see what we can do,” Francis said in Spanish, according to a loose summary of the meeting posted on a Chilean Web site, Reflection and Liberation, and later translated into English by the blog Rorate Caeli. .

“The ‘gay lobby’ is mentioned, and it is true, it is there. "We need to see what we can do, Francis said in Spanish.”

What could he possibly mean by that? Embrace them or ostracize them?
“If you have an institution as big as the Vatican, there are some who will be homosexual, some maybe actively so,” said the Vatican official. “But whether there’s collusion or internal cooperation, I’ve certainly not been aware of it.”
Still, I would think the Vatican would react with more Sturm Und Drang about any gay lobby operating within the Vatican hierarchy than the laid-back almost casual attitude demonstrated by the Vatican official.

Others said the remarks were in line with the new pope’s emphasis on openness.

Maybe, the gay lobby is more entrenched than we are aware of with the less than absolute rejection against accusations that have dogged the Church as it has.

Maybe all it means is that the Pope’s office has a brightly decorated waiting area...

I think I walked through the gay lobby when I visited the Vatican. It had several couches covered in red crushed velvet and a few GQ magazines laying around.

Well, they’ve been outed. To coin a phrase.

Anyone who is at all startled by this headline, does not pay attention to what goes on at the Vatican. And is not expecting liberalism and its politics to continue after BO’s terms are up.

They are 2000 years putting up with infiltration by the enemy. They are its main target.

It is the Pope saying, this is going on and we know it, we’re not changing and we’re not caving to pressure by them or the press.

Senator Cruz did the same thing today regarding being called tough on BO. See below.

BSA didn’t use these lessons, so they are now a 100 year institution and not on their way to 2000 years or even 200.

The Senate, having been modeled on a multimillenial institution, Greek democracy, understood it when the founding fathers took it on, expecting it to last way beyond 200 years. Cruz knows that.

From Freedom Outpost, earlier today:

Sen. Ted Cruz On Being Obamaphobic For Opposing Amnesty: “Guilty As Charged”

Well, it appears the Socialists just stick to the Alinsky playbook and believe that calling names will be enough to win the day. I suppose they didn’t get the memo that some Americans are just not intimidated by name calling.
