The plates can be changed instantly to display important messages, including Amber Alerts, and will let police and other drivers know if the tag is expired, if the driver is uninsured or if the driver's license has been suspended, according to the report.

State Rep. Ralph Norman told WSOCTV.com switching to electronic plates could assist police in getting uninsured drivers off the road.

It's for your own good, citizen. Stop complaining or you may get "extra" attention from the officers of the law

How about a number on the forehead or right hand while we’re at it?

How about just taking away everybody's right to drive a car, and making them take "Jonnycabs" instead, controlled by the Central Plexus?

It would probably be a fairly easy step to rig your electronics system to your license plate so that your car could be disabled remotely at the local DMV.

That too. And the criminal element? I bet withing a week of the first plate being issued there’s a hack that will allow them to change plates before committing a crime and change them yet again after, and for enough money, never, ever change them to any number that has a BOLO or is on any watch list.

It’s just amazes me that right after finding out about the NSA they are stupid enough to come up with this. Looks like GPS is no longer going to be needed.

I would think about if it also displayed immigration status. Then my logical side would kick in and say NO. My clinical side would say they all ready have everything about everybody in their data base and just scan the plate. My mischievous side would think. Can I hack these plates and put my own messages. What would I put on Mark Sanford plate.

This is actually not a bad idea. It should be possible to create a passive database that records the whereabouts of the vehicle at all times. That’s better than having to hide a bug on it, and enables 100% monitoring of ALL citizens, not just criminal-types.

It shouldn’t be difficult to add sound pick-ups to record conversations from the car’s interior, just in case. Or let’s say the owner is wanted on a BOLO-—then the license plate will automatically start flashing in neon colors. Removal of the tag renders the vehicle inoperable.

Maybe a taser in the seat to disable a criminal driver, like a tea partier.

After cars are driverless, maybe after tag expiration it’ll just PEEL OUT and drive you straight to prison..?

Or an Obama rally.

Or Men’s Country, in Chicago, where Barry was a regular.
